The Patient Care Technician functions as a clinical support partner, assisting the patient care team by performing various tasks and procedures as instructed by a licensed professional. Additionally, the Patient Care Technician may assume the responsibilities of a Health Unit Coordinator. This is a PART-TIME NIGHT SHIFT position. The unit is a 20-bed specialty unit caring for patients with strokes, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, neurological, orthopedic, multiple trauma, and a variety of other diagnoses. The program is CARF certified, adhering to CARF standards to promote the highest quality, value, and optimal outcomes. The team works closely with therapists (PT, OT, ST), nurses, and techs to develop goals and a plan of care for patient discharge, typically within an average of two weeks. The role involves getting to know and support patients and families, developing friendship and trust.
