About The Position
The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.
Requirements
- High School/GED
- American Heart Association BLS for healthcare provider CPR
- Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Work
- OR EMT-B, License in the State of Illinois
Nice To Haves
- Six or more months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
- Able to communicate effectively in person; by telephone; and computer messaging
- Six or more months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
