The Patient Care Technician functions as a clinical support partner, assisting the patient care team by performing various tasks and procedures as instructed by a licensed professional. Additionally, the Patient Care Technician may assume the responsibilities of a Health Unit Coordinator. This is a PART-TIME NIGHT SHIFT position. On the Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Unit, we treat patients with Leukemia, Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, and Aplastic Anemia. We administer Chemotherapy, blood products including PRBC’s, Platelets, and FFP. We also do CAR-T and Cellular therapy. Our patients are immunocompromised, and we treat infections with multiple antibiotics. Our patients have central lines to accommodate the many infusions they are receiving. We are considered an intermediate care unit with patient ratios on day 3:1 and 4:1 on nights due to the complexity of our patients. It is a great unit to learn on as a new grad and develop your nursing and critical thinking skills. Staff are engaged in mentoring new employees and work well together as a team. Patient care technicians at Intermountain Healthcare are committed to providing patient-centered care while demonstrating our values of Integrity, Trust, Excellence, Accountability, and Mutual Respect. If you are interested in contributing to our mission of helping people live the healthiest lives possible- come join our team.
