About The Position

This role is for a Patient Care Tech in the Cardiac Telemetry department at Ascension St. Vincent in Evansville, IN. The position is full-time and involves night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7 AM. The primary focus is on delivering compassionate daily care, supporting patient mobility, acting as a clinical observer, maintaining accurate care records, and creating a safe, healing environment.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with their personal care and daily living activities, ensuring they feel supported, comfortable, and treated with dignity throughout their stay.
• Guide and assist patients with movement and positioning, protecting their physical safety while helping them build momentum in their recovery.
• Identify and report subtle shifts in physical or emotional conditions to nursing staff, advocating directly for patient safety.
• Document patient care and observations promptly to ensure seamless communication across the healthcare team and maintain high standards of record-keeping.
• Maintain clean, orderly patient rooms and well-prepared medical equipment to foster a hygienic, welcoming space for healing.
