About The Position

This role is for a Patient Care Tech in the Cardiac Telemetry department at Ascension St. Vincent in Evansville, IN. The position is full-time, with shifts from 6:30 am to 7 pm. The primary focus is on delivering compassionate daily care, supporting patient mobility, acting as a clinical observer, maintaining accurate care documentation, and creating a safe, healing environment.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with their personal care and daily living activities, ensuring they feel supported, comfortable, and treated with dignity throughout their stay.
Guide and assist patients with movement and positioning, protecting their physical safety while helping them build momentum in their recovery.
Act as vital eyes and ears for the care team by identifying and reporting subtle shifts in physical or emotional conditions to nursing staff—advocating directly for patient safety.
Document patient care and observations promptly to ensure seamless communication across the healthcare team and maintain high standards of record-keeping.
Maintain clean, orderly patient rooms and well-prepared medical equipment to foster a hygienic, welcoming space for healing.
