The Patient Care Technician provides direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under the direction of the RN or licensed independent practitioner. This role involves monitoring patients' conditions, providing updates to the healthcare team, and delivering direct and indirect care to meet patients' comfort, personal hygiene, and safety needs. The technician will ensure the assigned clinical location is safe, clean, and stocked, and contribute to quality patient care outcomes by maintaining supplies and equipment. They will also play a role in patient experience by identifying patients, observing safety goals, and reporting any concerns. The position requires obtaining and recording patient information, assisting with specimen collection, attending mandatory training, and ensuring patient safety through participation in hospital initiatives. Establishing and maintaining courteous and effective rapport with patients, visitors, and the healthcare team is essential.
