About The Position

The Patient Care Specialist I serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service while managing front desk operations. Responsibilities include patient check-in/check-out, demographic updates, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and handling calls. Spanish-speaking candidates are preferred but not required. The Patient Care Specialist I is responsible for delivering exceptional patient service while supporting daily front office operations in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous medical office or customer service experience preferred
  • Spanish-speaking is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients in a professional and friendly manner
  • Accurately update and verify patient demographics and insurance information
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
  • Check out patients and ensure all necessary documentation is complete
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
  • Support providers and clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow
