Cleveland Clinic's H80 General Medicine/Telemetry Unit serves a diverse population, with patients presenting respiratory issues, gastrointestinal distress, alcohol withdrawal and other medical concerns. This diversity is comparable to that of the Emergency Department (ED), so the hands-on experience you gain as a PCNA is invaluable throughout the hospital system. Not only does this position offer an excellent way to enhance your nursing skills but also make a lasting difference in the lives of patients and their families every day. This is a PRN position with a flexible schedule designed to accommodate nursing students. (day/night rotation: 7:00am—7:30pm or 7:00pm—7:30am).

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross before or during new hire period
Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) considered

Responsibilities

Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN.
Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.
Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
