These 24-bed Cardiovascular Telemetry Units specialize in post-open heart, surgical, and ventricular assist device patients. The units are fast-paced and provide excellent opportunities in nursing growth and development with the ability to care for patients undergoing innovative procedures. Patient population includes post heart surgery patients such as:
Coronary artery bypass surgery
Minimally invasive and robotic heart surgery
Ventricular assist devices
Valve replacement or repair
Other procedures, such as maze procedure, endarterectomy, aneurysm repair
The Patient Care Nursing Assistant (PCNA) in this unit provides compassionate, hands-on care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), supporting a safe and healing environment through skills validated by training and competency assessments.
This is a full-time role. A caregiver in this position works nights, 7:00pm to 7:30am. Weekends and holidays rotation are required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross before or during new hire period
• Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) considered

Nice To Haves

• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as checking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheters.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
• Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
