About The Position

The Patient Care Manager in Interventional Radiology will oversee daily operations, staff management, and quality improvement initiatives within the department. This role requires strong clinical leadership, a focus on patient safety, and the ability to manage budgets and supplies effectively. The manager will ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and foster a positive and productive work environment.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of acute care experience strictly within Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Cath Labs, or a Critical Care setting.
Minimum of 2 to 3 years of progressive leadership experience (e.g., Charge Nurse, Unit Supervisor, or Assistant Manager).

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Administration preferred.
Certified Radiology Nurse (CRN) or Nurse Executive certification is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage daily patient scheduling, procedural room assignments, and patient throughput.
Formulate and adjust staffing schedules based on patient census and acuity.
Serve as a clinical resource for complex patient care problems and emergencies.
Enforce radiation safety, sterile techniques, moderate sedation, and contrast-allergy management protocols.
Direct human resource activities including interviewing, hiring, mentoring, performance evaluations, and corrective actions.
Partner with clinical nurse educators to manage staff onboarding, competency reviews, and certifications.
Foster a professional, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
Maintain unit alignment with standards from The Joint Commission, CMS, state departments of health, and HIPAA.
Lead Departmental Quality Improvement programs tracking infection rates, procedural delays, and patient satisfaction.
Draft, update, and implement department-specific evidence-based operational policies and procedural manuals.
Maintain accountability for the unit’s operational budget, minimizing cost variances and managing labor overtime.
Monitor inventory utilization for high-cost specialty medical devices to optimize supply chain cost efficiency.
