About The Position

NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking a Patient Care Director for Surgical Oncology at the 7HS unit, a full-time day position. This role involves leading a world-class team, driving engagement, process improvement, and infection control. The Director will collaborate with nursing leaders and physicians, oversee operations at NewYork Presbyterian Columbia Hospital, and foster a culture of teamwork, communication, and respect. Key responsibilities include driving quality and performance improvement initiatives, creating new processes, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The Director will also manage patient care delivery in hospitalist units, serve as a clinical resource and administrator, and facilitate efficient daily operations including admissions, discharges, and transfers. Promoting a culture of safety and quality by ensuring adherence to standards, protocols, policies, and procedures is crucial. In collaboration with the Director of Nursing, the Patient Care Director will set short and long-term unit goals aligned with hospital strategy and monitor staff compliance with regulatory, hospital, and divisional requirements.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse license
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to motivate others and problem-solving skills using critical thinking

  • Monitor staff for compliance with regulatory, hospital, and divisional requirements.
