About The Position

Highbar Physical Therapy is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) to join their team. The PCC is a vital part of the clinical staff, responsible for ensuring excellent patient experiences and maintaining administrative efficiency within the clinic. This role involves direct patient interaction, scheduling, financial transactions, and supporting clinical staff with administrative tasks. Highbar Physical Therapy is a growing practice focused on combining musculoskeletal health science with individualized care to achieve positive patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Two to three years of related experience and/or training

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in healthcare administration or a related field of study

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve daily messages and update schedules.
  • Greet and direct patients, vendors, and visitors.
  • Ensure new patients complete necessary paperwork and organize it for their first appointment.
  • Answer multi-line telephone system, collecting demographic and insurance information from new patients.
  • Collect co-payments and document transactions.
  • Manage patient appointments and cancellations.
  • Review therapist schedules to fill openings.
  • Document pertinent conversations.
  • Assist therapists with faxing patient information.
  • Explain insurance benefit details to patients, including authorization requirements, co-pays, and deductibles.
  • Initiate collection activities and negotiate payment terms.
  • Review essential reporting and dashboards to ensure timely task completion.
