About The Position

This position supports postpartum, pediatrics, and newborn nursery units. The patient care coordinator is a clinical RN who works hand-in-hand with the nursing unit manager to lead the nurses and patient care staff of their unit. This role requires compassion, strong communication skills, and an understanding of providing healthcare in a faith-based environment. Requirements

  • Team-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) with flexibility and adaptability to meet patient care needs.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required.
  • BSN must be obtained within 3 years of promotion into the position.
  • Current RN license in the state of practice or eligibility under the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • Minimum of 3 years of RN experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Pediatrics and/or Postpartum care.

Responsibilities

  • Supports postpartum, pediatrics, and newborn nursery units.
  • Leads nurses and patient care staff of their unit in collaboration with the nursing unit manager.
  • Plans, coordinates, and evaluates unit activities in partnership with the clinical manager.
  • Leads customer service initiatives, including rounding, service recovery, and monitoring employee and patient satisfaction scores.
  • Oversees unit operations during the shift.
  • Participates in unit and supervisor meetings.
  • Provides direct patient care based on staffing needs.
