About The Position

VCA Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists is seeking a full-time Patient Care Attendant to join their team. They are looking for an individual who is positive, energetic, eager to learn, and works well on a team to join their 24-hour Emergency & Critical Care service. The ideal candidate will possess solid technical skills along with genuine compassion for animals. Requirements

Full time (3) 12 hour shifts
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Able to effectively communicate with others in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

Restraining animals for doctor and technician
Administering medications under the supervision of the technician
Assisting with obtaining lab samples
Running labs on in-house machines (including learning how to troubleshoot machines)
Monitoring hospitalized patients during treatments and during surgery recovery
Surgical pack preparation
Cleaning kennels and replacing bedding for hospitalized patients
Offering food and water to hospitalized patients under the supervision of the technician
Walking hospitalized patients under the supervision of the technician
Assisting with sedated or anesthetized procedures as needed (set up and break down, cleaning, moving patients in and out of O/R, etc.)
General cleaning duties inside and outside the hospital, including laundry, sweeping/mopping, restocking medical supplies, maintaining medical equipment
Other duties as assigned
