Provide direct patient care under the direction and supervision of a licensed Nurse. The Patient Care Associate will carry out the patient care plan as directed by the Registered Nurse. This role involves providing direct physical care such as bed baths, toileting, grooming, and changing bed linens. General patient care includes positioning, lifting, turning, and using adaptive and transfer equipment. Monitoring patient vital signs and blood glucose levels is also a key responsibility. The associate will prepare patients for meals and assist as needed, perform regular patient rounds, and answer call lights promptly. Documentation of patient care in a timely manner is required, along with organizing patient rooms to maintain a clean environment. Obtaining and labeling specimens according to established procedures is also part of the role. Additionally, the Patient Care Associate will provide mentoring and teaching for new nursing assistants and complete other departmental or organizational activities as needed.
