About The Position

The Patient Care Associate (PCA) functions as an integral member of a team of care providers on a patient care unit, reflecting a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team, consisting of the Registered Nurse and the Patient Care Associate, provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achieving patient care outcomes, maximizing patient involvement in their own plan of care, improving service levels, and reducing costs. Patients and their families will experience the benefits of patient-focused care through the integrated skills of all care team members. The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care our patients receive.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous patient care experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
  • Strong customer service, organizational and time management skills
  • Successful completion of PCA training course required after hire
