About The Position

Schedule 36 hours/week. The Endoscopy department is closed on weekends and holidays. You'll work alongside nurses, physicians, and technicians to provide hands-on care for patients before and after endoscopy procedures. This is a patient-focused role where you'll help patients feel comfortable, safe, and supported throughout their visit.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Previous clerical experience (preferably in a healthcare setting).
  • Ability to read and write at level 8, as documented on "Invest," the hospital's Employee Learning Laboratory software.
  • An ability to set appropriate priorities and organize workflow.
  • An ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail during frequent interruptions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to interface with support and professional staff and patients.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support patients before and after procedures
  • Assist with walking, dressing, toileting, feeding, and other activities of daily living
  • Obtain vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
  • Transport patients throughout the department
  • Prepare patient rooms and turn over recovery spaces
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges
  • Answer call lights and support patient communication
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment
  • Training is provided for additional clinical skills, including: IV removal, 12-lead EKGs, Blood draws (phlebotomy)
  • May also assist with administrative and front desk responsibilities as needed.
