About The Position

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) role offers a significant opportunity to support comprehensive health care services for patients and their families. This position operates within the Occupational Medicine team, where the PCA assists Registered Nurses (RNs) and physicians within the established scope of nursing practices. It is an ideal role for individuals possessing strong interpersonal skills who are looking to explore a career in nursing. As a PCA at MultiCare, you will collaborate with the entire nursing staff, experiencing daily variety and engaging in problem-solving opportunities.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Washington
  • Current enrollment in an accredited RN program may replace the certification requirement; For students currently enrolled in an accredited RN program, Registration as a Nurse’s Assistant is required
  • Successfully completed a Basic Life Support (BLS) course for the Healthcare provider and has a current card

Nice To Haves

  • Patient care experience (institutional) of one (1) year or more

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient care as directed by RN/physician
  • Provide assistance through dressing changes, data gathering, and documentation
  • Take and record vital signs
  • Implement a service-oriented attitude, professional integrity, and solid decision-making capacities
  • Effectively prioritize and apply organization and flexibility to work duties
