Patient Care Assistant - CNA
About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant works in the Medical Specialty Unit at Prime Healthcare Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois. Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit, the assistant supports patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and helps maintain a safe environment. The role is full-time, with a day schedule of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and a weekend and holiday rotation. The stated compensation range is $18.00 to $26.68. The exact starting compensation is determined during applicant selection based on factors that may include skills, applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
Requirements
- Current BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained as current.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- State-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Current phlebotomy certification upon hire.
- Current EKG certification upon hire.
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office.
