The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) at Liberty Urgent Care, working 16 hours per week on evenings, is responsible for providing approved care to assigned patients and assisting in the implementation of interventions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). This role involves supervising and assisting patients with activities of daily living, offering assistance to co-workers, utilizing crisis control techniques for de-escalation, and aiding with patient transport and 1-on-1 observation as needed. The PCA is expected to embody Cincinnati Children's CARES behaviors, ensuring extraordinary customer service and satisfaction. They will report patient status changes, complete timely documentation in the patient medical record, seek guidance when necessary, and discuss work concerns with the Director or designee. Additionally, the PCA will maintain an organized, safe, accessible, effective, and efficient environment, complying with infection control and safety procedures. Responsibilities also include responding to communication systems and patient alarms with urgency, answering telephones according to etiquette, assembling charts, ordering supplies, and potentially assisting with new employee orientation and training.
