About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) II supports patient care by ensuring comfort and safety, following the model of care at TCH, which emphasizes collaboration between patients, families, and healthcare teams. Care is culturally sensitive and age-appropriate, and all duties are delegated by a Registered Nurse according to Ohio Board of Nursing guidelines. PCA II may also use critical thinking to escalate concerns as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Successful completion of a state-approved PCA/CNA training program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Understanding of patient care principles and practices
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as a Patient Care Assistant or CNA
- Experience in a renal or dialysis setting
- Additional certifications in patient care
