About The Position

Alomere Health, a recipient of the Top 20 Rural Hospitals in the Nation award, is seeking dedicated caregivers to join their team. The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) will assist nursing staff in providing patient care, including monitoring body functions, transporting patients, setting up and maintaining equipment, assisting with medical and surgical procedures, and ensuring sanitary conditions. This role is crucial in supporting individuals during vulnerable times within a growing community.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in the hospital setting
  • Prior experience in a nursing home setting
  • Completed the Certified Nursing Assistant course or equivalent
  • Ability to assist in providing a safe and friendly environment
  • Skill in observing patients for changes in conditions or behavior and promptly reporting changes to appropriate personnel
  • Ability to maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of patients in the delivery of services to them
  • Ability to interact with patients in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a carding environment

Responsibilities

  • Attend to the individual needs of the patient which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feedings, toileting, transferring, communication, or other needs
  • Perform skills which include observation and documentation of glucometer checks, vital signs and Intake & Outtake into appropriate record keeping systems
  • Lift, move, and transport patients using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention
  • Answer patient call lights promptly and courteously
  • Use infection prevention measures to prevent the spread of infection in and around the healthcare facility
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive manner
  • Demonstrate the ability to use relevant equipment
  • Support, understand, and promote Alomere Health’s mission, vision, values, policies and procedures
  • Ability to meet the work schedule requirements with flexibility dependent upon the needs of the department
  • Foster respectful working relationships with professional colleagues, patients, families, and general public regardless of age, gender, lifestyle, culture, beliefs, race, socioeconomic class, or ability
