Patient Care Assistant - Float Pool, Nights - PCA
About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) assists nursing staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care that support and complement nursing practice, under the supervision of a registered nurse. At a minimum, the PCA performs designated skills within the functions of a certified nursing assistant as defined by the Arizona State Board of Nursing. The PCA demonstrates knowledge of growth and development across the life span, interprets information in relation to patients’ age-specific needs, and communicates information reflecting patient status and delegated tasks or functions. The position works flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire, valid for at least 90 days from the start date, and continued maintenance of BLS competency.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of Block 1 in Nursing, or Medical Assistant (MA), or Nursing Assistant (NA), or at least six months of healthcare-setting experience within the last year.
- LNA or CNA certification preferred.
- One year of inpatient experience preferred.
