About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients, and helps maintain a safe environment. The work is performed under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit. The position is in the Med Surg department at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. The schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., consisting of 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), state-approved certification required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Current phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
- Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office, preferred.
