The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is a full-time position, working 72 hours per pay period on the day shift. Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center is a 444-bed hospital known for its clinical expertise and advanced medical technology, including being a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center. The hospital is part of Covenant Health, a leading nonprofit health system in East Tennessee. The PCA functions as a direct patient caregiver, assisting registered nurses with hands-on care, activities of daily living (ADLs), and specific technical tasks for a group of patients under the supervision of the Team Leader. The role may also include functioning as a sitter for patients requiring full-time supervision.
