This specific role is for a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) in the Main PreOp department, working part-time.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date.
- Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
Nice To Haves
- Preop/PACU experience preferred.
- Completion of Block 1 in Nursing OR Medical Assistant (MA) OR Nursing Assistant (NA) OR 6 months of experience in the healthcare setting within the last year.
Responsibilities
- Assists nursing staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care.
- Supports and complements nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Carries out designated skills within the functions of a certified nursing assistant as defined by the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
- Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development through the life span and interprets patient age-specific needs.
- Communicates data reflective of the patient's status and delegated tasks/functions.
- Works flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.
