The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) assists nursing staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care, supporting nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse. This role requires carrying out designated skills within the scope of a certified nursing assistant, as defined by the Arizona State Board of Nursing. The PCA must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan and interpret patient age-specific needs. They communicate patient status and delegated task information. The role involves flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date.
- Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of Block 1 in Nursing OR Medical Assistant (MA) OR Nursing Assistant (NA) OR 6 months of experience in the healthcare setting within the last year.
Responsibilities
