About The Position

Saint Mary's Regional Health System is seeking a full-time Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for their Medical Telemetry unit. This 28-bed unit provides specialized, continuous monitoring for a high-acuity patient population with diverse clinical needs, including complex cardiac and respiratory conditions, post-surgical recovery, and patients requiring bedside hemodialysis. The role involves providing direct patient care, documentation, maintaining equipment and supplies, interdepartmental communication, and participating in staff and continuing education.

Requirements

  • High School diploma preferred.
  • Nursing Assistant Certificate preferred.
  • BLS certification
  • Handle with Care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care
  • Performs specific documentation in the patient's record
  • Maintains equipment and supplies and participates in quality assurance
  • Communicates appropriate information in departmental and interdepartmentally
  • Assists and participates in staff education and pursues continuing education for personal development.
  • Applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately to patients, utilizing appropriate policies and procedures
