About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for our 4D TCU Cardiac/Neuro Telemetry Step Down unit located within the Edgewood Hospital. This is a 36-bed unit. The PCA is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the clerical functions and duties of a designated unit/program. They utilize Customer Service skills when greeting patients/visitors and answering the telephone. The PCA demonstrates the ability to complete worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse-generated tasks under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel. They provide direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of a RN or LPN. The PCA assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, comfort, and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients.

Requirements

High school Diploma / GED
Ability to perform such tasks as vital signs
Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
General computer skills and applications
Customer service experience

Responsibilities

Coordinating and maintaining the clerical functions and duties of a designated unit/program.
