About The Position

National Park Medical Center, a 163-bed full-service hospital, is a forward thinking, innovative hospital where trust, teamwork and technology come together to make a positive difference in the health of our community and region. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), performs basic patient care activities and unit support tasks to promote safe, efficient care and patient throughput. Assists with activities of daily living and routine monitoring; maintains a clean, well-stocked environment; supports nursing/physician staff and tech desk operations. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department. FLSA: Non-Exempt.

Requirements

  • Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment; rapid learning and navigation of multiple software systems; effective English communication (read/write/speak); ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire
  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • BCLS required

Nice To Haves

  • SRNA or EMT license is preferred.
  • Handle with Care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic patient care as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possible blood glucose measurements, and accurate intake/output recording.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, ambulation).
  • Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to nursing staff.
  • Keeps patient rooms and common areas clean, safe, and appropriately stocked.
  • Manages the tech desk; supports nursing/physician staff and department throughput.
  • Documents care and activities per unit standards.
  • Participates in performance improvement and required education; performs other duties as assigned.
