About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients, and helps maintain a safe environment. The role works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit. The position is at Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines, Illinois, on the Medical Surgical Telemetry department, with a night schedule of 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. and rotating holidays and weekends.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Illinois-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- Current phlebotomy certification upon hire preferred.
- Current EKG certification upon hire preferred.
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
