About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant works in the Emergency Services department at Prime Healthcare Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL. This full-time role involves working nights (7p-7a) with rotating weekends and holidays. The assistant is responsible for helping patients with daily living activities, providing basic nursing care, and contributing to a safe environment, all under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Illinois approved Certification required
- Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current
- Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology
Nice To Haves
- Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred
- Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred
- Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred
