About The Position
Avita Health System is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Assistant (PCA)/Unit Clerk to join their Emergency Department at the Bucyrus location. This role meets the communication needs of the patient, family, and staff. The PCA/Unit Clerk prepares and compiles records, initiates directions from physician and nursing staff, and provides basic nursing care to Emergency Department patients. They also maintain regulatory agency requirements, nursing and facility policies and procedures, and standards.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current BLS certification or within 30 days of hire date.
Nice To Haves
- STNA Certification or Paramedic or EMS Certification.
Responsibilities
- Meets the communication needs of the patient, family and staff.
- Prepares and compiles records in the facility.
- Initiates directions from physician and nursing staff.
- Provides basic nursing care to Emergency Department patients.
- Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and facility policies and procedures and standards.
