Patient Care Assistant - Post Surgical Care - PCA

This role supports nursing practice by assisting patients with direct and indirect care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) performs tasks limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel, such as assisting with daily living activities, providing basic nursing care, and maintaining a safe environment. This role aligns closely with the skills of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Patient Care Technician (PCT).
Requirements
- Must be 18 years old.
- High school diploma/GED preferred.
- Demonstrates ability to multi-task under stressful situations.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate, collaborate and manage relationships with interdisciplinary members while maintaining patient/family centeredness and safety in a timely, efficient and equitable manner.
- BLS certification required prior to first day in patient care (included in orientation program).

- Keyboard experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care.
- Support nursing practice under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
- Carry out designated activities within the scope of unlicensed nursing personnel.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- Provide basic nursing care to patients.
- Assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.
