About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant assists staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care which supports and complements nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Patient Care Assistant carries out delegated skills that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel. This role is similar to a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT).
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age prior to start date.
- Completion of 12 college credits OR high school diploma/GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent.
- Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
- Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. (Certification will be provided during orientation if not currently held).
