About The Position

The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is a certified person who performs direct care in the department setting. The PCA II maintains a current certification in patient care and is responsible to assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the RN as long as the activity does not distract from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current Certification in Patient Care required (M.A. / CNA / EMT / Paramedic / Patient Care Tech, etc.)
  • Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current
  • Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician
  • Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire
  • Current EKG certification upon hire
  • Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office.
