Patient Care Assistant Cardiac Intensive Care Tech Unit and Progressive Care Unit
About The Position
The PCA, under the direction of a registered nurse, is responsible for direct patient care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs. They assist in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/family wellbeing including concepts of relationship-based care. Critically ill patients recovering from acute MI, Cardiogenic shock, CHF, cardiac arrest, and various percutaneous interventions; Cardiac patients suffering from Heart attack, heart failure, arrythmias, and various percutaneous interventions, in a progressive care setting.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Recent experience desired
Responsibilities
- Assist patient in completing ADLs including: Bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation using assistive devices and with feeding and menu selection.
