About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant assists the unit in patient care duties such as cleaning/bathing patients, positioning, re-positioning and transporting patients, stocking shelves, cleaning equipment and assisting with dietary tasks. Performs EKGs and Glucometer POC, maintains competency in Glucometer and EKG. All work is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED
- Current BLS certification required or within 30 days of hire
- Certificate of Completion of a formal program that meets regulatory standards in Conflict resolution, de-escalation and teaches physical intervention techniques (I.e. MOAB, CPI or equivalent) - Must have on hire or obtained within 90 days of hire
Nice To Haves
- Certified Nursing Assistant training preferred
- Previous receptionist / hospital unit secretarial experience preferred
- CNA Certification preferred
