About The Position

Provides a wide range of administrative support to include financial counseling, cashiering, cash posting and receipt reconciliation, insurance verification, medical necessity, providing quotes, calculating and posting patient payments, charge entry validation and back-up registration support. Resolves patient issues, processes patient correspondence, handles petty cash and completes assigned work queues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years Revenue Cycle experience
  • Requires strong problem solving skills, high attention to detail and an aptitude for learning.
  • Able to read and interpret Explanation of Benefit (EOB) and assist with questions.
  • Requires knowledge of outside billing and collection vendors, along with financial policies to apply charity.
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) - National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
  • CRCR - Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA)

Responsibilities

  • Provides a wide range of support to patients for the registration process to include financial counseling, cashiering, calculating and posting patient payments and charge entry validation.
  • Resolves patient complaints and questions.
  • Handles cashiering and balances cash drawer daily.
  • Utilize price estimate tools to provide accurate pricing estimates to customers.
  • Researches patient accounts for balance issues.
  • Processes insurance/patient correspondence within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Processes petty cash transitions for RHS staff.
  • Provides back-up support for patient registration.
  • Completes assigned work queue corrections daily.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Cross trained to support two or more other areas within the department.
