About The Position

TRIA is looking to hire a Patient Assistant to join our surgery center team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day. The Patient Assistant provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, utilizing his/her skill and expertise to complement other health care providers. Major functions include: collecting data, recording, and reporting patient information to the RN. Assisting patients with ambulating or providing appropriate activity using lift devices, transfer belts, etc. as necessary; assisting with nutritional needs (feeding); performing vital signs, i.e., temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure; measuring and recording intake and output. Patient care is adapted to fit age-specific needs of each patient.

Requirements

BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines, or American Red Cross.

Nice To Haves

High school graduate preferred.
Nursing Assistant Certification preferred
Listed on the Nursing Assistant Registry preferred
Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
