Requirements

  • Two (2) years experience in customer service in a medical business environment (hospital, insurance company, doctor's office), medical collections, or related field, OR Three (3) years experience in customer service in any other industry.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic.
  • Basic computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of hospital terminology applicable to patient billing.
  • Two (2) years experience in customer service, collections, or related field.
  • CPAR-Certified Patient Account Representative (HFMA Georgia)
  • Bilingual skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the supervision of the work, volume and productivity of the Patient Account Specialists, shifting work assignments per daily volumes as needed.
  • Reports the status of the department to the Revenue Cycle Supervisor and is an example of excellent customer service.
  • Handles all escalated patient concerns and office items via phone and email.
  • Provides support to the Patient Account Specialist team, providing leadership and coordinating with the Revenue Cycle Supervisor on the training of new hires.
  • Monitors recorded calls for Quality Improvement.
