About The Position

Under minimal supervision is responsible for account follow-up for all assigned accounts, resolving insurance billing problems and answering patient inquiries. Set up financial arrangements with the patients, as needed, to include payment plans. Uses collection techniques to keep accounts receivable current including monitoring for delinquent payments from both insurance companies as well as the patient. As necessary assists patients and families with obtaining community resources including, but not limited to, drug replacement, co-pay assistance and other financial support. Supports and adheres to the Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a medical business office setting with insurance processing and balancing responsibilities
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook as it relates to job duties
• Ability to complete and pass Microsoft (MS) skills check list with managers or results from an employment agency test
• Ability to prioritize duties and manage time effectively
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent customer service
• High level of courtesy and professionalism
