About The Position

TEKsystems is partnering with a well-established hospital system to identify skilled Patient Access Technicians who are ready to grow their careers. This role involves providing clerical and secretarial support for the patient care team and serving as a patient liaison for medical support services. The Patient Access Technician facilitates the revenue cycle process, including patient registration, insurance verification, co-payment collection, authorization data entry, and billing inquiry functions. They are responsible for accurate data collection, documentation, and retrieval using computerized systems, and collaborate with various departments on patient access-related information. The role also involves conducting pre-registration and entrance verification, and providing coverage to assigned registration locations as needed.

Requirements

2+ years of patient access and customer experience
Experience with registering patients
High school diploma or GED required

Nice To Haves

EMR/EPIC experience preferred

Responsibilities

Quick Book - basic patient registration for ER walk-ins (name, DOB, basic demographics).
Minor Care - bedside registration including insurance verification, co-payment collection, authorization data entry, and billing inquiry functions for patients expected to be in and out quickly.
Main Treatment Area - full registration process for more serious patients.
Register patients for inpatient surgeries, entering demographics, insurance information, collecting copayments, and obtaining signatures on treatment obligation forms.
Cross-trained to register patients in the lab.
Provide clerical and secretarial support for the patient care team.
Serve as a patient liaison for medical support services.
Greet, instruct, direct, and assist patients and visitors upon arrival.
Facilitate the revenue cycle process.
Conduct pre-registration and entrance verification.
Provide coverage to assigned registration locations, including those outside of the primary work location or by task assignment based on operational needs.
