Cedars Sinai is seeking a Patient Access Service Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of assigned areas. This role involves planning, organizing, and supervising operations to meet customer needs and support Medical Center philosophies. The Supervisor will manage fiscal responsibilities through budget preparation, act as a liaison with medical staff, promote employee growth, participate in strategic planning, and ensure patient advocacy. The position reports to the Patient Access Manager or Director and guides staff in meeting customer needs in alignment with the Medical Center's philosophy, mission, vision, and strategic plan. The Supervisor is responsible for contributing to the overall achievement of Patient Services goals by collaborating on workflows, job aids, policies, and procedures related to various revenue cycle processes. They will monitor and coordinate daily operations and staffing, supervise clerical and administrative staff, conduct interviews and recommend hires, train staff, conduct in-services, evaluate performance, and administer corrective discipline. The role also involves managing employee personnel files, evaluating operational and quality needs, implementing training and workflow enhancements, administering HR and payroll functions, and potentially managing the SDAN system. Quality assurance, monitoring reports, monthly KPIs, and developing quality monitors are key responsibilities. The Supervisor will act as a leader, participate in performance improvement activities, ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and maintain staff compliance with Medical Center policies. They will foster a positive work climate, promote self-directed staff, and apply HR policies fairly. Fiscal responsibility includes budget preparation, labor and supply cost management, and revenue enhancement. Collaboration with internal and external departments is expected for resolving workflow issues. Regular staff meetings will be held to communicate information and address concerns. The role also involves assisting with planning, training, and implementing best practice processes and workflows in areas like referrals, registration, scheduling, authorizations, financial clearance, and financial counseling, and overseeing a comprehensive training and quality program, including curriculum development for new hires and annual competence assessments.
