About The Position

Inova Cardiac and Vascular Surgery is looking for a dedicated Patient Access Specialist to join their team. This role will be full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
1 year of patient access experience

Responsibilities

Manages complex cases, resolves errors, confirms authorizations, validates, and indexes documents.
Prepares schedules, tracks records, and navigates multiple systems efficiently.
Coordinates documentation and follows up on case-related tasks.
Assesses coverage and initiates financial assistance.
Applies payer-specific rules, resolves issues, and identifies contract limitations.
Resolves moderate concerns and tracks follow-ups with patients.
Educates patients and reports usage trends on kiosks.
Coordinates with departments, tailors messaging, and supports patients.
Validates insurance and tracks referral status.
Schedules specialty visits and coordinates preparation.
Coordinates special needs transport.
Resolves minor chart issues and assists with release of information (ROI).
Provides documentation to utilization review (UR) teams.
Ensures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other applicable federal and state regulations.
May perform additional duties as assigned.
