This position is responsible for patient scheduling, registration, financial collections and the daily clerical support of the health center for the delivery of primary care to the patients and families of Metro Community Health Center. The role involves demonstrating a high level of skill at building relationships and customer service, providing counsel, support, advice, and support to patients and their families. Key duties include creating new accounts by collecting registration data and creating new patient charts within the EMR, maintaining accuracy of patient insurance information, scanning insurance cards, and updating income verification forms. The specialist will also collect co-pays, payments, and balances, enter/apply patient payments, and maintain appropriate use of office equipment like fax machines, copiers, and computers. Additional responsibilities include checking patients in and out, answering incoming calls, assisting with scheduling, triaging calls, obtaining and updating patient demographics, and verifying patient insurance information using online tools or by contacting insurance companies. The role requires maintaining compliance with all policies, procedures, and laws, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high call volumes.
