About The Position

We are seeking a Patient Access Specialist to join a busy hospital admitting team. This role is responsible for facilitating patient registration, verifying insurance coverage, maintaining accurate patient records, and delivering exceptional customer service throughout the patient intake process. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and capable of balancing accuracy, efficiency, and compassion when interacting with patients and families.

Responsibilities

Register patients accurately and efficiently while collecting and validating demographic and insurance information.
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, including HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medi-Cal/Medicaid, and Tri-Care plans.
Complete patient intake and admission documentation in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
Maintain patient records and update information within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Assist patients and families by answering questions and providing clear direction throughout the registration process.
Coordinate with clinical and administrative departments to support smooth patient flow.
Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
Support patient transportation to various hospital departments as needed.
Perform data entry and other administrative duties with a high degree of accuracy.
