This role involves practicing Patients First philosophy, adhering to high standards of customer service, and fostering a team atmosphere. Responsibilities include responding to questions, maintaining patient confidentiality, providing exceptional customer service, collecting patient demographic information, interacting with hospital departments and physicians offices, scheduling appointments, performing medical necessity checks, informing patients of financial account issues, completing out-of-pocket estimations, providing training, managing work schedules efficiently, cross-training, participating in Quality Assurance reviews, and using service recovery skills. Communication involves informing patients about referrals and insurance, collecting authorization numbers, providing a professional communication environment, attending meetings, communicating customer satisfaction issues, demonstrating teamwork, interacting with internal customers, and accommodating all levels of communication ability. Technology utilization includes multiple online order retrieval systems, verifying insurance eligibility and benefit levels, completing accurate handoff instructions in Epic, using computer applications efficiently, running real-time eligibility, and sending quality Epic Messages/Telephone encounters. Efficiency, Process Improvement, and Business Growth involve proactively preventing patient visit issues, understanding data sets for registration, understanding quality metrics, analyzing account activity, evaluating procedures for improvements, participating in quality improvement activities, providing suggestions for process improvements, monitoring registration and scheduling, adjusting processes to meet standards, using resources efficiently, acting as a training resource, understanding schedule changes, and evolving with healthcare policy changes.
