Responsible for registering patients efficiently and accurately, greeting patients and visitors in person or by phone, and verifying insurance eligibility. This role involves coordinating night quick admit registration, monitoring patient census, and maintaining preregistered accounts. The specialist will scan registration forms into the electronic medical record system, maintain standing orders for Laboratory patients, and process patient payments (copays, deductibles, co-insurance). Additional duties include processing mail, scanning insurance remits, monitoring faxes and print jobs, generating estimates for procedures, attending meetings, and completing assigned trainings. The role requires cross-training in all registration areas and rotation through each area at least once per quarter. Responsibilities also include answering multi-line phones, validating prior authorization information, notifying staff of patient arrivals for STAT procedures, and calling patients for appointment reminders. May assist with registration audits and corrections. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
