The Patient Access Specialist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NMHC, adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. This is a part-time position with 40 hours every two weeks, working from 10pm to 6:30am, including a weekend rotation of every other weekend. The role involves providing exceptional customer service to patients, ensuring accurate collection of demographic information, scheduling appointments, performing medical necessity checks, estimating out-of-pocket costs, and maintaining patient confidentiality. The specialist will also collaborate with various hospital departments and physicians' offices, utilize multiple online systems for order retrieval and insurance verification, and contribute to process improvement initiatives. Training and cross-training between departments will be provided. The position requires adherence to all departmental policies, compliance requirements, and a commitment to patient safety and financial well-being.
